JOURNEY
Mr. Kiron Senapati was born in Puri, India, the Land of Jagannath and has been singing Bhajans (soul music) for over 30+ years. It was indeed a calling to sing the praise of Lord Krishna that led him to produce the first Bhajan CD in 1993, followed by two additional Bhajan CDs in 2003 and 2008. He has been guided by two famous musicians; Late Shri Akshaya Mohanty and Padmashri Anup Jalota. Kiron lives in Tampa, and besides working as an engineer during the day time, he sings Bhajans in Temples, at religious gatherings, funerals, and where ever he is called to sing the glory of Lord Krishna.
Awards & Recognition
Mr. Senapati has received numerous awards since childhood when he used to participate in the National Anthem singing competition and used to win first place. Subsequently, he won various prizes throughout school and college years from 1969 -1978. Here is a list of some of the awards/recognition:
- All India Radio Cuttack – Music Recording for Broadcast - 1989.
- 1st Place Geet Ghazal Bajans, Calcutta School of Music – 2002
- 1st Place Saregama Competition held by the Gujarati Samaj of Tampa Bay – 2004
STAGE PERFORMANCES
Mr. Senapati has performed at various locations in Tampa, Florida for the past 30+ years and other parts of the United States. He definitely finds time to perform in Odisha whenever he visits home to be with family. Mr. Senapati’s dream is to travel throughout Odisha and India and perform free of charge at various Orphanages and Schools for Handicapped Children, for those who don’t have the ability to go out for entertainment.
